Chic and Romantic Engagement Photoshoot in Paris: From Place du Trocadero to a Parisian Cafe

Capturing the Classic Elegance of Paris

When Courtney and James reached out to me to capture their Parisian engagement photos before their upcoming wedding, I could not have been more excited. In our conversations leading up to their engagement shoot, they told me they were envisioning something romantic and classic. We wanted to do something that would showcase their secure, loving relationship while also leaning into the fun they have together. And of course, we wanted it to feel chic and cool, too. My literal dream!

Given this couple’s vision for timeless sophistication, romance, and iconic Paris backdrops, we decided on two primary locations: the Place du Trocadero and a classic Parisian cafe.

On the morning of their engagement session, this duo arrived dressed to impress. They went for chic and timeless—but cool and modern, too! Courtney arrived in a rich green gown that cascaded beautifully around her. I absolutely loved the gorgeous drama of that feather trim around her neckline! James was looking sharp, too, in a tailored black suit and some cool black and white Nikes.

Their gorgeous outfits and the scenery together set the tone for our dreamy, editorial-inspired photo shoot.

We met shortly after the sun rose. And right away, we started our session with the iconic Eiffel Tower views that the Trocadéro is known for! We also took advantage of other spots around the square. After our initial photos, we walked down the stairs to the enormous fountain in Trocadero gardens. And then back up to the ornate, gold-accented architecture of the square itself!

Without spending too much time walking to different locations, we were able to get multiple classic Parisian backdrops that definitely brought the drama! For their part, Courtney and James snuggled close, stealing tender glances and some playful moments too over the course of the morning.

A Cozy Cafe Finish to a Dreamy Photo Session

From there, we walked to the charming Carette cafe. Courtney and James sat on wicker chairs outside and sipped on rich, creamy cafe au laits and shared croissants.

This intimate setting felt like the perfect contrast to the grand Trocadéro. And while this couple might not drink coffees in classic Parisian cafes every day, the everyday intimacy of sitting in a cafe felt like a moment of ease. It really let their love shine through in a natural, comfortable way. I absolutely loved getting to end our engagement photo session this way!

From start to finish, this Parisian engagement session felt like a true celebration of Courtney and James’ elegance and romance. From the iconic Eiffel Tower backdrop to the cozy Parisian cafe, every moment was infused with that classic charm that makes this city so captivating to visitors around the world. I’m honored to have been a part of preserving their love story through these beautiful images.
