So, you’re donating your profits?
Yep! From now until September 30th at 11:59 pm PST, all profits will be donated for all purchases made in the shop.
Our current recipient for purchases is: The Movement for Black Lives. From their website:
The Movement for Black Lives (M4BL) formed in December of 2014, was created as a space for Black organizations across the country to debate and discuss the current political conditions, develop shared assessments of what political interventions were necessary in order to achieve key policy, cultural and political wins, convene organizational leadership in order to debate and co-create a shared movement wide strategy. Under the fundamental idea that we can achieve more together than we can separately.
The Movement for Black Lives is an ecosystem of individuals and organizations creating a shared vision and policy agenda to win rights, recognition, and resources for Black people. In doing so, the movement makes it possible for us, and therefore everyone, to live healthy and fruitful lives.
The Movement for Black Lives is made up of over 150 organizations that coordinate actions, messages and campaigns. Organizations like: Black Alliance for Justice Immigration, Blackbird, Black Lives Matter Network, Black Organizing for Leadership and Dignity, Blackout Collective, Black Youth Project 100, Color of Change, Dignity and Power Now, Freedom Inc, Southerners on New Ground, UndocuBlack Network, Law4Black Lives, Black Movement Law Project, and many others.
In the interest of being as clear as possible: donating all profits means that I’ll donate everything I would normally keep to pay myself after the production costs (printing, shipping, any miscellaneous fees like royalties, etc.) and business fees (eg. French business taxes) are taken care of. The exact amount donated per purchase will vary depending on what you buy.
Previous recipient: The Loveland Foundation
What does archival quality mean?
Archival quality means that these prints are made to last. All the prints I have for sale are made using a photographic process on professional-grade papers. They should last about 100 years under normal conditions. Longer if you hang them in a museum, shorter if you hang them in a steam room. 😉
What is photographic printing?
Let’s start with what photographic printing isn’t: it’s not ink on paper. Essentially, photographic printing is an extension of how analog photography works in general: it’s all about light and chemistry. Photographic paper is photosensitive: you print by exposing it to light. The image is projected onto the paper, and then a chemical process freezes it into place, so it stays there for good.
When will I receive my order?
- Free shipping: 6-11 business days
- Expedited shipping: 4-6 business days
When will you add more prints to the shop?
There’s no set schedule, but I’m already thinking of the next batch! If you join my mailing list, I’ll email you as soon as new prints are available!
I want to buy a print of a photo I found on your website/social media/etc., but it’s not in your shop. What can I do?
Please drop me a line and let me know what photo you’re eyeing! I’m constantly thinking of what I should offer, and I would love your input.
Will my print be signed?
At this time, non-limited edition prints are not signed.
Since I live in France and mostly work with North American clients, I’ve established a partnership with a professional photo lab in the US that is able to ship prints on my behalf. This means I’m able to offer free shipping to American buyers and discounted shipping to Canada (woohoo!), and it means I can get the prints to you much faster. Unfortunately it also means I’m not there to sign them before my trusty lab pops them in the mail.
If you would like a signature from me to go along with your print(s), I can provide a certificate of authenticity with my signature. I’d be happy to mail it to you from France at no additional cost, so you can pop it into your frame behind the print and have it as a record. Just add a note saying you’d like one when you check out! Please be aware that the certificate may take several weeks to arrive at your doorstep from Europe.
What’s your refund policy?
These photo prints are printed on demand as orders come in. Because of this, we are not currently able to offer refunds. If your print arrives damaged or if there has been an error on our part, though, please let us know right away so that we can fix it. We want to make sure you’re satisfied with your purchase, of course!
